The cosmetic surgeries are a boon for those looking for a permanent option. But it doesn’t mean that a cosmetic surgery is flawless as with any other surgical or non-surgical procedure. Cosmetic surgery has got its own flipsides. Cosmetic surgery is on the rise given the increasing number of TV shows and celebs flaunting it. Remember cosmetic surgery is not for everybody. While plastic surgery may seem to be done fairly quickly, there are certain dangerous strings attached to it that should be measured before even contacting a surgeon.

For everyone, the few common dangers to cosmetic surgery we have to know about that, there is a chance that patients could have a reaction to the anesthesia used to put to sleep for the procedure. Whilst now it has become relatively rare but as it is life-threatening patients should not overlook it. Anesthesia should be done by qualified doctors and that is separate branch of medicine. Other complications may also likely to develop during the course of operation with reactions to drugs given such as pain relievers and antibiotics.

Infection at the site of surgery is another most common risk which may require more surgery and may leave even bigger scars. Asymmetrical or uneven appearance which may require additional surgery to correct may also happen. An accumulation of fluid beneath the wound (seroma) and collection of blood in incision (hematoma) may happen and profuse bleeding in some patients has been reported.

Another danger of cosmetic surgery is scarring. Expert Surgeons try their best to minimize scars that may arise from the surgery; but still there is no fail-safe way to make the body heal correctly. Surgeons attempt to hide surgical marks in the hairline as a standard practice. The more alarming thing in this is the potential danger for nerve damage. This usually manifests in paralysis and result in temporary or permanent inability to move the muscles in that area on which the procedure was performed.

There is also a possibility of keloids growth (overgrowth of rough, patchy tissue at the site of a healed skin) from cosmetic surgery, and there is no way found out yet. Blood clots in the surgical area can cause problems which can result in blemishes and scars.

The cosmetic surgery’s risk is not as profound as they once were, and as a matter of fact the majority of people get through the surgical procedures without any permanent side effects. Don’t falter to follow up on whatever appointments may be scheduled with your surgeon after the surgery and question the surgeon about any doubts or concerns you might have. Whenever the dressings need to be changed, do those as part of the cosmetic surgery after care routine?

Persons below age 18 should think twice before going under the knife for cosmetic surgery and better postpone it. Their body would not have matured to its final shape. So if they are thinking about Rhinoplasty or breast implants because of the dissatisfaction of their looks…..the best procedure is to wait. There is still plenty of time.

More scientific studies are being done all the time to answer the question “How does aromatherapy work?” Current thinking theorizes that every essential oil contains varying amounts of certain chemical compounds which can be broken down into categories. Each of the compounds reacts on the limbic portion of the brain (the one which controls emotions) in a different way and produces results in that area of physical and emotional well-being. The basic groups include

ALDEHYDES – These lemon-like essential oils are antiviral and anti inflammatory. They are also calming to the point of being soporific.

ALCOHOLS – The essential oils found in such plants as sandalwood, patchouli, ginger petitgrain, rose, rosewood, myrtle, peppermint and tea tree are stimulating, diuretic, antiviral, kill bacteria, energizing and vitalizing.

PHENOLS – Cumin, savory, oregano, thyme, cinnamon and clove essential oils are strongly bactericidal. They are invigorating, warming and stimulate the immune system. Phenols are often used in cough syrup and lip balm.

CETONE – The essential oils found in hyssop, eucalyptus globulus, sage, rosemary and camphor assist in stimulating new cell growth for wound healing, and lowers mucous secretions. Centones are often found in nail polish.

TERPENES – Angelica, nutmeg, pine oils, black pepper, bergamot, orange, and lemon essential oils are all very stimulating. They have anti-viral properties, but may irritate the skin.

SESQUITERPENES – The essential oils known as tagates, yarrow, tansy, immortelle, and blue chamomiles are immune stimulants, bacteriostatic, anti-carcinogenic, anti-viral, sedative, anti-inflammatory and anti-phlogistic

ESTERS – Esters such as bergamot, petitgrain, clary sage, lavender and Roman chamomile essential oils are anti-inflammatory, fungicidal, spasmolytic, calming, sedative and anti-fungal.

LACTONES – Essential oils of elacampane and arnica provide anti-inflammatory and mucolytic properties

ETHERS – Sassafras, parsley, tarragon, basil anise, clove, and cinnamon essential oils are soothing to the nervous system, diuretic, spasmolytic, expectorant, stimulating and an antiseptic.

Although the above list provides general answers to the question “How does aromatherapy work?” – it is far from a comprehensive list. Scientists still are not sure precisely what causes the compounds to affect particular portions of the brain and change the chemistry of the blood in the way which it does.

It has been found that lavender oil caused participants in a test study to reduce error rate by 20 percent. Jasmine oil reduced error rates by 33 percent and using a lemon fragrance cause error rates in the same group of participant to drop by a full 54 percent. Each of the essentials respectively are increasingly stimulating.

Since betas are from the rice paddies of Southeast Asia, they typically thrive in conditions somewhat similar to their origins. They were originally used for gambling in Thailand when 2 male fish would be put together to fight, sometimes to the death. In the wild, the Siamese fighting fish standing or slow-moving water, including flood plains and rice paddies at temperatures of 24 to 30 degrees Celsius. This level of temperature should be used in the aquarium. Give the fish a fifty percent water change once a week if it is being kept in a small volume of water. Colder water temperatures could lower the bettas’ immune system and cause illness. The PH level should range between 6.5 and 7, which means slightly acidic.

The most important factor in maintaining their ideal tank set-up is that betas require consistent conditions. They are easily stressed by sudden changes in temperature, pH or bacteria.

Normally bettas live to be 2-5 years old, but some live to be nearly 8 years old. The male betta splendens builds a bubblenest which he tends to and keeps the eggs in. The eggs will not develop properly if they are not near the surface of the water. The only fish that could live in a bowl is the betta. They have specific requirements that are simple to meet, so keeping Siamese fighting fish would be an easy task.

An important and often overlooked tip for the proper betta fish care is to have the fish bowl covered. Siamese fish jump from stream to puddle in the wild and the same is true for the captive ones…they jump!! If you do not cover your bowl, you will eventually see you Siamese fighting fish dried up or flopping about on your floor. Be sure to have a gap between the lid and the surface of the water because they need to access the top of the water to breathe air. Always leave at least a half of inch space between the surface of the water and the lid of the bowl. Be sure the lid has air holes so it does not suffocate.

Never use a fish net to catch a Siamese fighting fish when doing changes because their fins are very delicate and can easily get caught in the fiber of the net and be ripped.
